Just moved need advise to meet new people?

I just moved to a new state. I am having trouble meeting people. Dont get me wrong I know the people I work with and hang out with them, and people that I meet at and through work. I want to go out and hang out with other people. I am a shy, quiet person. so going out by myself is out of the question. any ideas would help.

I'd ask a cool co-worker if they want to go out (as friends) and tell them why. They'll understand. Get involvexc in community stuff, too. But small talk is not the #1 answer.

Reply:If you're a religious type, church is always a great place to start. If not, then you can go to bars/nightclubs and meet new people that way. You can try signing up for classes (ex: cooking classes) and meet people that way. Go to block parties (if there are one) and other communal gatherings, such as fairs. Talk with your neighbors, they can become great friends and helpers. Being a frequent visitor to stores can also allow you to become friends with other people too. Just be relaxed and break out of your shell and become the social butterfly. Easier said than done right? Good luck. :P
