HELP !!! How do I meet new people ?

I am a smart, funny,honest, loving, cute, single 31 yr old woman. I can also be a very shy homebody. I have tried eharmony %26amp; match.com. Recently, I have started thinking about trying some of the penpal sites.


I must admit my responses have been really disappointing. Those few who do answer are quite honestly old enough to be my father. The rest don't seem to be willing to give a good girl a chance. I am beginning to feel that if you don't fit the "Barbie Doll" sterotype you don't stand a chance.


I have never been the bar / club scene type. I am simply a single woman who is tired of all the head game, dishonest, only out there for themselves players of the world. So please if you have any suggestions about where and how to meet new people, I am all ears .........

I think the only answer is taking up some kind of activity that is hard to do but that you admire (usually something that you've never done out of laziness)...





Orienteering, running, SCUBA, Fencing... something like that...





It will open up a whole new layer of society, help you encounter people who often avoid that whole bar scene thing too...





%26amp;, irrespective of who you encounter, you will have done something cool that you'd never otherwise have gotten 'round t' doing... %26amp; doing cool stuff has a good effect...

Reply:I met my wife on Match.com. I liked that we were able to pick the criteria in a mate we were looking for. We both had a child from previous marriages and were both looking for someone with a child so we could gauge what type of parent they were. We were both looking for someone who didn't drink or smoke too, so it was very easy to weed people out. We just had our first baby together 5 months ago. My wife is the love of my live and I feel like the luckiest guy in the world to have found her. She is an excellent mother to my son who we have full-time and you would never know that my step-daughter and son weren't real siblings. My sister-in-law also found her true love over the internet too. I don't understand why people think you've less likely to be lied to in person than over the net. Just make sure you get a good picture of them and like them for who they are.
Reply:LOL I did the same thing for a long time and then I met my man at the bar....2 lonely souls looking for the same thing...try it. Just stay away from the drunks!

If your interested in someone - just ask him for lunch (something innocent)





Most guys are interested in the company of a female - if there available.





Then you can decide if he's honest, or what not by dating him.





The old way is the best way.
