I LIVE IN STEVENAGE,BUT IT SO HARD TO MEET PEOPLE,IV`E LIVED HERE FOR 1 AND A HALF YEARS NOW,AND IVE STILL NOT FOUND ANY FRIENDLY PEOPLE.SO IF THERE ARE ANY FRIENDLY,AND CARING.AND TRUSTING LADY`S OUT THERE WOULD LIKE TO MEET UP WITH ME OR EVEN CHAT AND MAYBE BE FRIENDS ,THAT WOULD BE REAL NICE.I`M A GOOD MAN BUT JUST FIND IT HARD TO FIND FRIEND ,WITH ME COMING FROM BLACKPOOL UP NORTH IS SO HARD NOT KNOWING MANY PEOPLE DOWN HERE.WELL I HOPE THERE ARE SOME GOOD AND UNDERSTANDING PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT WOULD LIKE TO CHAT AND MAYBE BECOME FRIENDS ETC....TAKE CARE DARREN

Does anyone know any statistics on how many people meet in person after meeting online?

I have several friends using online matchmaker services and I'm just curious how many people actually meet in real life. I know it used to be considered "desperate" but it seems so acceptable now. I just wonder how many people actually meet in person. I'm trying to convince someone that it can be safe and a great way to make new friends or start a relationship so any actual statistics would be greatly appreciated! Please no personal stories.

Reply:I work in marketing and research and I don't know of any specific study that tracked how many people met after making an online connection. Your best bet may be to try looking at some of the dating sites to see if they provide anything like that as a 'testament' to their service besides individual testimonials.

Hello all, I just recently moved to a new town and so far the only person I've met is my landlord. What are good activities to do to meet people?? Any suggestions would help -

Reply:umm go to bars if u are old enough or too a downtown area, Umm if there is a rec center or some kind of special thing that lets u meet new people in town sometimes the library works too or just strike up a conversation with someone that strikes your eye that u might want to get to know as a friend i am kinda in the same perdicament right now and i seem to be meeting new people through my family more than anything.
Reply:Online is OK, but you'd have to look locally; otherwise, join local clubs related to your hobbies, start new hobbies or just hang out at the grocery store and try to help guys pick out better stuff!
