How do I meet people in Boston outside of the bar scene?

Hey - I've been in Boston almost a year and am still trying to figure out how to meet cool people 25-35 outside of the bar scene. Does anyone have any advice? I'd love to pick up a new hobby or learn something interesting...

How do I meet people in Boston outside of the bar scene?
Go to a gym or take a class like cooking or jewelry making etc. Usually people with same interest do make good friends.

With Amateur Radio I am equipped to provide disaster relief communications, emergency communications and help other people with what I do for fun! And besides that, it is quite cheap to get into, and you only spend as much as you want. Amateur radio is very social; we learn to be outgoing in calling and answering calls all across the states and the world. It's also educational, we learn lots about how things work.
