How do u meet new people after a long term relationship?

I was with my boyfriend for 6yrs and i know we've done the right thing splitting up but i feel so alone. I've never really had a big group of friends other than those my ex and i had together. I'd love to go out and meet new people and just have some fun starting my life over again. But i don't know how to go about it. All my friends are in relationships or with children and don't have the time to come out with me. Its sad as am only 24. Can anyone give me any advice??

Unfortunately, that’s what happens when you get in relationship – you tend to neglect other friendships too. Don’t worry, there’s no age limit where you can never stop having friends. Anyways, as they say its best to stop looking for friendship and romantic relationship, let them find you instead. When you are happy with your own life, they will show up when you’re not looking for them.





Think of job hunting as meeting people – through church, school, develop new interests or hobbies, gym/recreational centres, professional associations like rotary club or toastmasters club, volunteer (a good one!), social internet groups like www.meetup.com or www.meetin.org

Reply:Just be more available... When friends you do have invite you out or somewhere even to family parties just go, there you can always meet new people. You can also go back to school. Make friends w/ class mates, get a hobby- try bartending school, real estate school, anything that you can maybe get a side job, make extra cash %26amp; meet people @ the same time. Save money to travel... %26amp; meet new people @ the same time too. The main thing is just to keep yourself busy, %26amp; then maybe as time passes you may realize that you may not even have time for just one or two friends cause your so busy with all the other stuff thats going on in your life.
