Im 17 and im home schooled, about a year ago I was in high school, but due to me moving back from 2 states I just decided to become home schooled so visiting my family wouldn't get in my way of school. The problem is now I am not really sure where to meet new people, especially since im shy. I have a few friends where im currently living but they are lazy and never want to do anything besides lay around. I currently walk every day at the track and around the neighborhood but I never run into anyone my age, even if I did there wouldn't be much to say.
Where can I meet new people?
Well the best places to meet people are:
1: Work
2: Public places
3: Yoga class (hey.. it works for me... %26gt;%26lt;)
4: Public events.
There are people everywhere, and with most people you can go up and just say hi, and start talking to them, once you get to know them a bit, and they get to know you, you build on from there.
Reply:oh im so sorry, yeah being home schooled makes it difficult, getting a job at a popular spot where teens work is a good idea like at the mall, movies, park district, or anywhere. Maybe try telling your friends to introduce you to more people. Just don't be shy, make small talk about anything! ex: the weather, current events. You can talk to people anywhere, the supermarket, the park, starbucks... etc. GOOD Luck!! You can also use the internet like start talking to people in chat rooms, or find ppl with your interests... lol ill be ur friend... feel free to message me anytime im f/18/ chicago
Reply:sport centres
clubs
Reply:Church is a really good way to make close friends. Or you could join a sports team in the community, or get a job at a place a lot of teens work.
Reply:try getting a part time job i find thats a great way of making new friends my age or play a team sport or take up dancing or something. Try and be confident by going up to people and starting small talk like "hey you look really familar do i know you from somewhere?". Just try and get out of your comfort zone cos people wont bite.
