im 14, and wanna go on the royal acrribean cruise or seomthing to meet kdis my own age?? any1 no if alot of kids my age go on cruises, my friends meet a lto of people on them but idk what cruise lines they went on...
Are cruises a good way to meet people?
There are several good cruise lines to choose from for you to meet kids. Disney is one but others also have programs for kids. Royal Caribbean has Kids programs called Adventure Ocean where they will have kids in the same age range participate in daily supervised activities in special areas on ships. On some ships the teens even have their own disco area. Carnival also has kids programs, called Camp Carnival for ages 2 to 11, and Circle C for ages 12 to 14, and Club 02 for 15 to 17 year olds. Princess has Youth and Teen programs for kids ages 3 to 17. Norwegian has Kids Crew programs for kids ages 2 to 17. So do not pick Disney because you think it is the only cruise line that has something for you.
I think that you will enjoy Royal Caribbean because in addition to the kids programs it has the rock climbing wall, a full sized basketball/volleyball court, some ships have a roller blade track and some an ice skating rink. The new Freedom and Liberty of the Seas ships have the flow rider which allows you to surf on a boogie board right on ship. You would meet a bunch of kids doing that.
You should tell your parents to plan to go to the Caribbean and go during the summer months when most kids will be out of school and on vacations. June would be a good time as its the very beginning of the hurricane season when there are generally few storms
Reply:the cruises do have a lot of youth programs for kids of all ages from around the world.
i would pick a cruise line that has the best youth program and go at the busiest time.
don't be sold a slow week, altough you will save money. you need a busy week to encounter lots of kids.
i do not know if kids are better at keeping in touch after the cruise. many adults meet a lot of friends , but the sad truth is that you leave best freinds but often do not see each other again. life just gets busy.
you might try looking at cruisecritics.com and see if under the roll calls or there might even be a section for younger cruises to hook up
good luck.
Reply:I traveled Norwegian Cruise Line. NCL has plenty of fascinating programs on the schedule with enthusiastic staff, so you'll never be bored, but relative to the total number of persons on the ship, the number of children was small. Many of the people aboard were traveling as couples, and senior citizens were in abundance as well. You'll have fun with the kids that you do meet, but I don't think you'll be meeting crowds upon crowds of 14-year-olds aboard ship.
Reply:No. Most cruises are with family. I am 27 and only go for cruises with family coz its rare to see single people wanting to be friends.. and the actual single ones are scary coz they encourage sex and its not good for young people. Just do other things instead. Cheers
