Where do I meet nice people in my new town?

Okay I just moved to a new town and know nobody! I tried the bar scene but there are nothing but losers there. Where can I meet nice people at, with some intellegence, and maybe a potential mate. By the way I am gay, into girls! Would appreciate some suggestions! - Thanks

well, the gay thing rules out my first choice, a church, but u could get involved in the community. Join an organization in the town, there is bound to be at least one lesbian in the town.
