Where can you meet people in a new town?

So I just moved to a job out of college, don't really know anyone in the town and I am not particularly religious. So how do you meet people in a new town without just hanging out at a bar.

Where can you meet people in a new town?
Go to Yahoo! personals.
Reply:Just go shopping for clothing, drink at starbucks, you can meet alot of people just around regular stores.
Reply:Just be a confident, friendly person. Take time to talk to people. You're not gonna bond with everyone you see, but it's a good start.
Reply:everyone has to buy groceries, so grocery stores are good places. sporting events are good. join a bowling league, there are thousands of things you could do. it doesn't always have to be at Church.
Reply:Try searching for "Professional" clubs or "Networking" clubs. They advertise themselves as social events designed as networking opportunities, but in reality eveyone there is looking to hookup.
Reply:I find a bowling alley, billiard room, or a recreation venue is good place. also, Museums or art expo's/exhibits are also good. But the best place is the local grocer or Laundromat
Reply:Anywhere but the computer dummy!
Reply:up your butt and around the corner
Reply:Hang out at the super market. Everybody has to eat.
Reply:As a guy, try laundromats, coffee shops, Your workplace, and anywhere else that there are people. You can also volunteer with some charity work, or part time in a hospital. Ask questions of people, as you meet them, or get their advice on a subject. It all works to start a friendship.
Reply:Bakery's are always popular
Reply:In all the same types of places you would meet people in an old town...
Reply:volunteer...

work...

walk around town and go to the park and see idle people and ask directions...haha
Reply:if you are into sports you can always join a running club or a bicycle club.
