Why do so many people like to meet over the computer?

i no people like to meet after speeking on the internet for a while but why do they meet why cant they just be friends?

Why do so many people like to meet over the computer?
because they can say whatever they want without fear of retribution.








Real people are so messy, so RANDOM! Virtual is much better.

Thats what i believe to be true. we like to sometimes jump out of our own skin and become a person totally different to ourselves. ^.^

As you can't see what someone looks like you have to judge them on their opinions and what they say or ask.


Some people I talk to regularly in chat rooms or via E-mail are a lot younger than me and in 'real' life I would rarely meet and what teenager would want to be seen talking to someone old enough to be their gran! On the net a common interest like fish or dogs soon leads to other subjects and it is surprising how the friendship develops, and then differences in age etc becomes irrelevant. We don't need to meet face to face to be just friends.


I think some people want to meet because they are looking for more than friendship and if it works for them, Good Luck to them.


All I would say is that younger people should remember never go to meet an 'internet' friend alone. You could easily be being misled and put yourself in danger!

But I think it is so the person will know the "real you" and you will know the "real them" before you get the wrong first impression...





Though I'm not sure anyone is really themselves on the Internet...
Reply:Because the computer is a shield. We can be anyone we want to be behind the computer. I think it is all about how we use our imagination.





Other then that, I have met like 2 people from the internet. Both turned out to be a really bad expierence for me. Once was a complete douchebag... The other one is like Fly, he just won't leave me alone. That is my dating expierence from the internet. I haven't really went online looking for friends to hang out with in real life. I have enough of those.
Reply:Sometimes there is such a strong connection between the two people that they cant help but meet. That's the way it was when I met my husband. We just clicked so perfectly that the only option was for us to meet. It was beyond just wanting to meet, it was we NEEDED to meet. Once we did, fate took over. We were married 7 months later. Neither of us could've been satisfied with just a friendship.
